Monitor Issue

My girlfriend's monitor has been acting up lately. It will be fine one moment but spontaneously get a blue or pink hue to it and then switch back to normal. I've tried unplugging and cleaning the connectors, cleaning out the graphics card of any dust, and messing with the monitor controls themselves to fix the problem yet it still does this.

Could this be a sign of a monitor going due to age or perhaps a graphics card dying? I have updated all the drivers for the monitor and graphics card.

The monitor is quite old, it's a Compaq 7500 and the card is a ATI radeon x800.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like the green color tube's dying (if it's a CRT). One of my old monitors did the same with red. Time to get a new one.

could be the vid card, cable, or monitor itself.

does flexing the cable any which way cause the issue to happen?

Damn that's an ancient monitor

Monitor cable (check the pins for bent) and like Vlasic said flex the cable. Otherwise it is probably the tube going bad. Unlikely is video card.
