Its just a golden orb, pretty harmless to humans (they make you pretty sick, but you wont die). In order to get bitten by one you have to more or less get it under your clothing, which for its size is pretty difficult.

If you spread your fingers and overlay one hand on top of the other, thats about the width of their legs when spread, not much larger (say 12"?)
