Laptop graphics cards

I'm looking to get a laptop for work purposes, but I also want to be able to play a few games at a fairly decent framerate in my free time.

However, I don't know the first thing about laptop video acceleration, all the card names are greek to me.

Anyone know of some good websites that will offer me decent reviews or at least a guide so I can find a price range/suss out what I'm looking for?

Well.. myself, I have a dell inspiron 9100.. it uses a mobile radeon 9700, and plays games perfectly (including hl2, doom3 and bf2).

There are actually a fair few around nowdays with pretty decent 3D performance.. mainly mobile versions of ATI and Nvidia's 3d cards. Look for those.

Averatec plays games at a nice, solid framerate of 4fps.

I can't even run Guild Wars on the laptop.

9700 on a laptop does not equal 9700 in a normal desktop

search around on reviews, and try to find comparisons
