SPRING GREEN, United States (AFP) - Democratic presidential challenger John Kerry appealed for an end to the TV advertising war that has marked his election battle against President George W. Bush.

Kerry said the avalanche of negative television spots and attacks being shown on US screens was scaring off voters.

He's right - the ads are scaring off voters. They're scaring off Kerry voters, and they're running straight to President Bush. When your opponent starts whining about your ads and asks you to stop, you know they've been devastatingly effective.

And I'll leave you all with the following zinger (I don't know who writes this crap, but he/she deserves to be fired):

"I'm calling them 'misleadisments,'" Kerry said of the adverts.
