Now what? Read some of the guides, but honestly, not having touched this game since beta, I'm still kinda lost as to what race I'd want, or skills. Has anything major changed with the recent expansion?

I'm thinking of going merc-for-hire or something down the road, is that viable or is the way to go the big corporations?

Any info'd be appreciated. Sure, I could read a bunch on the CCP site, but you guys know what you're doing and you're TWers.

EDIT: I'm also not huge on big starships, being a fighter-type. Will I have to give up that dream to get anywhere in the game?
 
Well, newbies start with 800k SP which is a huge step up. The guides are alittle out of whack now because there's other options you can take like getting gunnery V, or Drones V/DI 3 or 4 and crap like that.

Intercepters and their pre-req assault frigates would be your ship of choice if you like small and fast ships. Although really to make money in this game you need a battleship or at the very least the skills to be effective in a dedicated mining cruiser.

I believe there's a track you can take that will give you frig IV, spaceship command IV, navigation IV. Which means to get into a mwd frigate (fast frigate setup) is only a couple hours training.

are you in the tribalwar corp? save up some money get a battle ship and come to fade. You make lots of money ratting in 0.0. much more then Level 3's and now with warp to zero you dont even have to worry about geting instas.
 
so since I totally wasn't paying attention to the patch release... when exactly are these servers supposed to be coming up?

(remembers that for RMR, there was like an extra 20 hours of unexpected downtime, on top of the 24 to deploy the patch)

jesus shit... they fixed the two things I hated most about this game...
0km warps and pilot status in the chat.

I don't have to use my friends list as a hostile list now... HUZZAH.

Definitely going to come back and play for a bit again.
 
Kay, I copied my folder patched to be able to play on test server last night, went fine.

I checked out Eve Online at work today, all day.

I get home, I cant get on Eve ONline, and I cant get on the server.

ANY suggestions? I turned off my firewall did not help.

so so pissed!
