In this thread you recommend music.

I listen to rap mostly.

for example

nas, kid cudi, notorious, wale, lil wayne, jedi mind tricks, immortal technique, aesop rock, atmosphere, the cool kids, bone thugs, common, wsc, three six, ice cube, run dmc, tech9, too short, lupe

you get the picture.

I recommend any other music besides rap.

And country. Don't bother with country.

You can thank me later.

Only retards listen to rap. I think less heavy rock is the way to go. You should try listening to Rise Against, Linkin Park, Cage the Elephant, and so on.

Hilltop Hoods are a perennial favourite in the Australian Hip Hop scene.

Not really 'rap', per se... but close, and good.

(their latest big hit.. plenty of others - including better ones, on youtube - look up 'the nosebleed section' if you want more)

Ouch man.. Ouch. Rise against, no, Linkin park.. tell me that was a joke?

cage the elephant i could live with.

it's really sad that rise against can actually be grouped in with linkin park now.

terrible, terrible shit

so... if there's some artists in there you like, might be worth checking out some of the others...

Ghettosocks is pretty dope. Canadian hip hop out of Halifax
D-sisive is an interesting rapper out of Toronto, definitely not for everyone.
Snowgoons are some hardcore mother fuckers.
Braille, Grieves, Camp Lo, Eyedea and Abilities, RA the Rugged Man, J-live, Blaq Poet, El Da sensei (his solo stuff is kinda meh, if you're into the old school go for Artifacts if you haven't heard of them), Little Brother had some hype a few years ago, still getting their grind on... Chino XL, The Knux, Young Buck, etc. etc.

Mostly big names in there, some not so well known ones. I could go on, but there's a few rap names in there that maybe you haven't heard of. Can always add more later or PM me if you want some lesser known ones perhaps.

Some good underground hip-hop are:

P.O.S. , Doomtree, MF Doom [King Geedorah (Mc), Metal fingers (Instrumentals)] , Jurassic 5, Brother Ali, Aceyaalone, Illogic, People under the stairs, Sweatshop union, Dilated Peoples

edit:
oh and apathy the mc is pretty dope...
