Help, my parents victims of Fraud

Someone used my parents credit card(that they have only used once to reserve a truck at U-Haul) at bestbuy.com. He even had the code on the back of the card and my parents home phone number, which he used as the fax number.


My parents have already done everything they needed to with the credit card and fraud stuff.

Here's the timeline of it:

Parents called Visa.
Visa refunds parents the money.
Visa files report with BestBuy.
BestBuy doesn't refund my parents, because it was purchased in their name.
It was shipped using UPS.
My mom calls UPS to find out where it was shipped to.
Orignally shipped to a bogus address that doesn't exist.
Find out it was shipped to:
Noel Enrisco
88 Polaris Dr.
Lake of the Hills, IL
after it was shipped to the bogus address. (UPS called up the guy and asked where to ship it to)
My mom calls BB again. They still wont refund the money, but gave my mom IP address from which it was order.

207.255.199.169

I went to arin.net to see if there was an address to go with that IP. And now I'm stuck because I don't get what it says/means.

Any help you guys could give would be much appreciated with the IP stuff. I'm clueless on that stuff.
 
I'm no expert, but I think that lookup means that the IP you have is a customer's dynamic IP. You'll have to contact the ISP directly to get any actual information about who was using that IP at the time of the purchase.

yeah, but how it works is, i think, Visa still has to pay bestbuy for it. Best Buy is being a bunch of jews.
 
if visa gave yuo back the money, then you don't hav eanything to worry about

they will give your folks a new card number and that's it...their fraud dept wil handle the rest.

there is nothing for you to do. Credit Card companies pay out for it, the card holder is not liable for it...end of story

Well other than "justice" why do you care if VISA eats the payment? That doesn't affect you guys as long as VISA gives you the money...or am I missing something here?
 
the ip responds to ping but device is otherwise non-responsive to a full TCP and UDP port sweep in addition to SNMP queries.

Oh please. The most TW cares about Justice is that it has to be funny or ironic. Fuck this guys parents for buying stuff on the intenet. They need to get off the internet.

That Quincy, MA address is just an office park. It must just be the local office of the ISP.
 
why did you call VISA? Call the bank that issued the card..

of course Best buy won't refund the money, but the bank will get the money back from best buy.

Which bank issued the credit card? I might be able to help you more if it's Capital One.
