We just released version 0.5 of our app hellanzb. For those of you familliar with NZBs, this program does everything the most popular unix nzb downloader does (nzbget) and more.
I'm getting the word out because it's the first major version we want people to start using. Here's what I spammed to a couple other forums:
hellanzb 0.5 has been released -- and there was much rejoicing

(FreeBSD port, Mac OS X darwinport and python source tar ball available)

hellanzb is a Python application designed for *nix environments that retrieves
nzb files and fully processes them. The goal being to make getting files from
Usenet as hands-free as possible.
Features:
o Downloads and post processes your archives all for you. Post processing
automatically takes place in the background while hellanzb continues
downloading the next archive in your queue!
o Hella smart post processor, automatically handles:
- par2 verification and repair
- unraring
- configurable music decompression via external cmd line apps. can spawn
multiple decompress processes (especially handy for multi processor/SMP
servers)
o Mac OS X Growl notification support (http://www.growl.info)
o Can optionally log its status to a log file, with automatic rollover & cutoff
New in version 0.5:
o NZB downloader rewritten from scratch (and some pyNewsleecher code by Freddie <freddie@madcowdisease.org> ) to use the twisted framework. With new NZB downloader status ticker
o Automatic reconnection and anti idle of NNTP server connections
o Bandwidth throttling
o Can resume interrupted (CTRL-C, etc) downloads, at the segment level
o Improved logging
hellanzb is:
o hella easy (downloads nzbs in its queue, then automatically par verifies/extracts/decompresses archive)
o hella fast & hella twisted (tested to max out 6mb/s cable modems -- uses the twisted framework for hella fast asynchronous networking)
o hella unix & hella python & hella free (BSD License)
