Headphone amplifier

I'm think this is something I need. I have my Xbox 360 hooked up to an LCD monitor right now. Hooking my headphones up to the monitor's line out results in shitty, tinny sound.

If I am thinking along the right lines, any suggestions for something cheap?
 
not quite. its your source that is the problem, not that your headphones aren't getting enough power. (btw - what are your headphones? this matters.)

sooo.. get a better source. If your monitor can't handle it, id figure something like a cheapo receiver would be more than enough for any headphone (bar 3-4 high-end models, k-1000s, etc..)
 
Ive checked the specs and you shouldn't need an amp at all. You just have a bad source. All an amp will do is make the tinny shittyness of the sound louder.
