FYI, Xbox 360 Elite had $50 mail in rebate until Oct. 7th now ($250 total)

Still don't have a 360, so I was about to pre-order the new Modern Warfare 2 package, but wasn't too keen on the custom graphics on the 360 console itself, but it came with Modern Warfare 2, 2 controllers and a 250gb Hard Drive. But now, with the Elite at $250, I think that's the better deal.

Supposedly, and I know nothing about it, the brand new ones with thew new chipset don't have the issue. With the Fall '09 Elites you're guaranteed the new Jasper Chipset.

mine started red ringing back in march. paid $20 for a kit including shipping and fixed it myself. no problems since. the elite is mighty temping though.
