Oh, yeah. Funny thing about Maxtor OEM drives. Those have 3 year but the retail boxes have 1 year.

If you already have an old Western Digital drive you can use their trade-up program to get cheap drives too

(you dont actually have to trade the old drive, just give them the serial)

Find a local computer discount store, like Memory Express, or Canada Computers, and you can get the same drive in SATA for $10 more.

not as far as i can tell

for canadians, there's a bit of a risk of it shipping from the states instead of concord, ontario and people getting charges brokerage fees

but apparently the % of people getting 'em from the states are really low and most are getting them shipped from concord, no brokerage no taxes
