So im working and i put my cellphone behind the bar for less than two minutes and someone swiped my phone. I'm fucking pissed beyond belief cuz i cant help but think the asshole who took it was still getting drinks from my bar all night with my phone in their pocket....i hope he drowns in a sea of cocks.

Was a sony ericsson w580i (with an 8gig m2 chip in it) and they turned the phone off immediately after swiping it, i tried calling it after realizing it was gone. Its through rogers on a 3 year contract. Is there anything i can do bout this? I'm sure rogers dosnt cover theft and ill have to buy a new phone... I've never lost or had my phone stolen before.
 
Do you have the IMEI security number? If you do - get the phone locked by your carrier so the f*cker can't sell it.
 
They don't cover theft unless you have the insurance option.

Another life lesson learned. Be sure to tell everyone at the bar. If the idiot did it to you, they'll keep doing it until caught.

IMEI? No clue what that is or how i can find it... My phone takes a SIN card so whoever took it just has to swap mine out and replace it. But my phones locked so whoever took it cant do shit with it even if they swap it out, only thing of value for them on that phone is that 8 gig chip in it.

yeah thats the thing its on camera but my boss isnt in to look at the tapes till next week and if it was some random that took it well im fucked. If it was a regular well hes gonna get a barstool across the back of his head when he comes to order a drink.

I'm pretty sure its a SIM card, not a SIN card.

IMEI = international mobile equipment identifier (or something like that). Phones have them. You access the IMEI by pressing a few buttons on the phone (Which you don't have. You might be lucky - check on the outside of the box that the phone came in, there should be a few stickers, one will be the IMEI #)

Like I said before - you can contact a phone company and they'll be able to brick your phone.

Doesn't help you much, but it will piss all over the thief's chance to get the phone working.
 
Yeah its SIM card. You cna put a block on the phone to stop him using it, but there are many "shops" that offer unblocking services these days its almost not worth it

I don't think you can't block the IMEI code thing. You can get around passwords/security codes on phones though.

Why didn't you try calling your phone and reasoning with the thief? If you were smart enough you could even incriminate him or pretend your a friend of yours that thinks his voice is the same as yours and want to mail some money you owe and you just need an address to send it to or meet at. Something, anything..

He did, the thief turned the phone off.

Also, the w580i is an awesome phone, I love it. Hope you buy another one.:cheers:
 
my locker got broken into at the gym once fucker took my phone, smokes and 20$. i had home made porno vids of my ex gf so he was entertained.
 
my Blackberry locks it self when a minute of innactivity passes by.

When I press unlock I input a quick 4 key password and it unlocks.
You should look into it this way if you lose it or it gets stolen nobody can fuck with your shit.
BTW after 10 or 13 wrong consecutive entries of the password it locks itself even more and deletes all phone data.
 
Cube buddy had his locker broken into at the gym last Friday. They took his wallet, went to Best Buy, and charged up a ton of crap. He's doesn't have to pay. The cop didn't even care to look at the locker. Do not take your wallet into a gym.
