Dell Prez Day - $400 laptop

those definitely fail at a higher rate than other laptops... on the other hand, you probably won't find a better performer for $400, and dell is really good about in warranty stuff.

just don't be surprised if it needs a motherboard in a year or two.

Cool. Ya it won't get used frequently, so hopefully I'll elude common issues.. I'll upgrade next year when the warranty expires.
 
i would look for a deal an an amd a6 laptop since it would be more fun for the random game of LOL or tf2 but that dell seems fine for basic stuff.
 
over the last 6 years, intel arch based laptops have been considerably more reliable than amds.

i don't know about amd a6/a4 in particular, but it's not a great track record.
