Came home today and it was off. Turned out back on and it just cycled on and off like i was flipping a switch. PS right?

take out all of the peripherals and try to boot it.

if it doesn't post and make a beep it could be PSU or motherboard.

sounds like you have the netbus virus. If it were Sub7 your cd tray would be constantly opening and closing.

It could be a lot of things.

A Visigoth might have stabbed his sword through it, for example.

Check the side of the case for a protruding hilt or blade.

It's probably the PSU. Reduce the components in the case and then add back to see if it is something like the video card instead.

Check for blown capacitors. Just had a computer with similar symptoms, and found a blown cap in the video card...

At least rule it out, easy to check with a light. They should be flat on top.

I've actually heard them pop and rattle around in a running computer...

If lights come on for a few seconds and it shuts right off it is probably the cpu fan or heatsink. Open it up and watch cpu fan to see if trys to spin when you cycle it. If it does, remove hearsink, clean it and the cpu, reapply heatsink compound and reinstall heatsink, see what happens. If it doesn't replace the fan
