Couple of questions. Im keeping the bird I rescued after its owner went to jail.

Never owned a bird but doesnt seem to need to much and seems happy enough. Chirps constantly throughout the day and comes and goes to the top of his cage where I put a perch for him.
Sometimes for no apparent reason he starts chirping really loud "CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP" and it goes on for 10 minutes or so. Is that normal?
How often do you give them a spray bath and arent they supposed to preen themselves afterwords? He just sits there all wet.
Hes an old bird, the guy is 30 and he got it in 4th grade. Doesnt like to be touched and wont get on my finger. Ungrateful fucker tries to bite me. So I just let him do his thing.
