What neighborhood is the Congress Theater in? We're going to see Amon Tobin in October, and I'm trying to find a decent hotel on priceline. Any input would be appreciated.

Logan Square neighborhood. You're gonna have to cab it to and from a hotel -- it's not a great neighborhood, but not bad either. Primarily Mexican families, Hipsters, and increasingly more gentrified. There's a great Craft Brew Pub called http://revbrew.com/ up the street on Milwaukee.

Get a hotel anywhere. The L drops you off about 2 blocks from the congress.

That whole neighborhood is kinda sketch though. Unless you`re mexican.

Getting a cab from downtown to the congress was a 20 dollar ride. Taking the train back 2.50 ride.

Sadly the Congress is one of the shittiest venues in all of chicago.

The neighborhood isn't bad at all (not once have I felt unsafe there, even during the wee hours of the morning) so if you get a hotel in logan square or more likely in the loop it will all be the same. Prolly cheaper to find somewhere to sleep in logan square.

and yes... take the L. So much cheaper than a cab.

cool. might just do that - take the L there and cab it back depending on the neighborhood. not worried about the cash.

finding a cab at the congress after a show lets out is an exercise in futility. Either leave the show early, or get ready to walk 3 miles away from the place to find one.

i don't get why anyone would travel to see a concert when you can have a better listening experience on your headphones at home

1: this -

2: i love concerts. there's something wonderful about enjoying a performance of music and video with a crowd that is impossible to recreate alone in my home with my kleenex and porn.

well tell me if they get their equalization right and don't just make it 100% bass. looks and sounds cool
