Can anyone recommend a digital camera?

My brother's wedding is in less than a month and I want to upgrade before then. I currently have an old Sony Cybershot 4.1 MP, but that thing seems ancient now.

I'm lookin' for anything between $200-$300. 7.1 MP-8 MP is preferable I guess, altough I'm not sure if the difference between the two is that big of a deal.
 
bought my mom a SD850 IS for xmas. 7 day exchange so i played with it for a few days, really nice for a smoke pack sized camera. would buy for myself if i ever want a non slr to carry around.
 
yeah my P&S is a canon elph and i really liked it (pocket sized, good quality)

don't use it anymore tho
