Buying things ONLINE

I'm intrigued by the terminology: "Did you buy that offline?" No, I bought it online, because I was on the internet. This is what I always thought at least. If I buy something offline, it would imply that I'm not on the internet, therefore I bought it in a store or something. Maybe it's some grammar rule I've never seen or maybe everyone just is retarded and doesn't think about what they say. What do you think?

who the fuck says did you buy that offline.

if anyone said that to me when they meant online i'd call them a retard and probably kill them

Sounds like you know some retards that are getting

"Did you buy that online?"
"Did you buy that off (of) the internet?"
"Did you buy that off (of) online?"

all confused, teach them to spaek teh englash.

this thread reminds me of people who insist on using the word "download" for everything computer related.
