Ok, Sorry for posting 2 threads in a row about needs. Im looking to buy my parents a plasma/lcd tv for christmas. I'd like a 42 inch. Price range of $2000 or under too. Is there anyone that has researched or has a great place to find a deal on one.

thanks again,

$2000 or under is tough to find a LCD/plasma in of that size. I've been looking at 37" and 42" plasmas and LCD's (more LCD's). This soyo (http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q...,GGLG:2005-41,GGLG:en&sa=N&tab=ff&oi=froogler) is really cheap for the size and has an LG panel (LG makes good panels). Other than that there's only a few reviews for it or else I would have bought it already.

Dell has some good deals from time to time where you can get this plasma for ~$2100:

Lifetime seems to be the same at this point between plasmas and LCD's (plasmas didn't used to last nearly as long) and the burn in problem with plasmas they say is much less on the newer models. Plasmas also are supposed to show truer blacks but in the stores the difference isn't noticable to me. LCD's use less electricity.

*edit* the guy at Bernie's told me the other night that they didn't make a 42" LCD but I know i've seen them before online...
