Same boat. D3 made it worse by not having random maps.
 
I'm talking about the layout specifically. Knowing the layout on replay made things very dull.
 
I got the itch to play Diablo 2 again last week. Never made it past Hell Act 1. Closest I got was a Firewall Sorc, but then fire immune Fallen happened all over the place.

Trying a Bone Spear/Spirit Necro this time because magic damage is a lot less resisted. Doing great so far (with the Enjoy-SP mod to make drops not suck horse ass), about to kill Nightmare Diablo and no sign of slowing down yet.
 
I really don't understand paying for something that's available for free. Are these the same people who pay for porn?
 
I would imagine it’s mostly kids with daddy’s credit card but I could be wrong. I’ve had it installed for a month now and still haven’t tried it :rofl:
 
its the asian market pumping id wager
i only have 1 char and its on a jap server but 90% of the playerbase are indonesian/vietnamese/flips and theyre all so fuckin retarded
i beat story and got to hell mode 2 but i only play on phone now which is rare since i work from home

I'm 60/38 and haven't spent a dime and it shows. I can't fight in hell 2 without help. My combat rating is sub 1000. It's painfully obvious that it will literally take years to grind enough to be able to advance without paying money.

then there's a few genuine rich people who dgaf

kids with access to their parents' credit cards who do not keep track of how much they spend at all

and of course let's not forget various neurodivergent people (ADHD etc), in whom the game actively cultivates a full blown gambling addiction
