I would feel ripped (off) without ad revenue.

They could at least offer on the paid version an api hook that allows the forum owners to add a reference to their ad revenue generator to integrate mobile ads for the site to gain an income. Its not impossible to achieve.

Alternatively an app can be written for TW that is essentially an RSS reader that has a reply button to the reply.php

There are lots of ways of doing it, but this app sounds like a rip off to content generators.

I like the last one but I have no idea how it would look without a blue background since its using transparency. I don't have a smart phone so I can't see what this even looks like.
 
it already is a png and I don't have photoshop to replace the transparency; I can't even see what the app looks like so I don't know if that needs to be done.
