Why are most state line divides straight lines, but the Northern state line of Kentucky looks like it was drawn by a drunk penguin?

No you're right actually, they're all curved in the horizontal plane due to the earth not being flat, you dumb inbred fuck.
 
No border is a straight line, it may be represented by a straight line on a map, but they're usually charted around individual land owners desires. Even the US Canada border, that supposedly follows the 47th parallel is actually off 3 to 5 arc seconds.
