[possible reckless ofn] Borders officially ded

Not really a sustainable business model when Amazon.com can undercut all of their products by half the price and has a device to deliver the same content instantly for a few dollars.

Got a couple of cookin' books for a decent price when they closed one in Austin a few months ago. This 'decent price' was only decent after a 75% mark down.

they will go to barnes and noble (who may be able to use the nook as a lifejacket for the company)

or maybe walden books

does walden books exist anymore? probably not

i bet b. dalton went down too...they sponsored reading rainbow

holy shit

levar burton is going to be unemployed

This sucks. I read e-books, but I still prefer paperbacks. Just something about having it in your hand, having your collection on the shelf...tangible.

I'm disappointed. :(

They didn't adapt in time. Amazon is the model of Distribution. I'm telling our suits to be like them and sell EVERYTHING.
