Last night we tried our first backup, SQLServer immediately shit the bed, and when I got up this morning before I could kill the process something happened to kill MySQL in the middle of a write to the post table which crashed it.
I tried to repair the table for 4 hours this morning, it wasn't happening. It kept complaining the buffer size for the repair tool was too small (I set the buffer size to its max size of 4 GB)
So, the best I could do was take our last backup from the old server right before the move.
We have lost everything that happened between then when we first came up (Thurs) and last night at 2am. 5 complete days of data, posts, users ... everything.
Sorry, I've disabled the backup system now.
I figured it was better to get us back up and running without 5 days of posts (including a slow weekend) rather than keep us down for who knows how long.
