It's not my fault you have a shitty family man, but I'm sorry for you. Me and my wife work, so my kid does daycare but he has a good time there. He's got a lot of friends and little girlfriends there. Now my wife is taking another 2 years off to have our second child and she gets paid to stay home for 1 of those years. So we won't even have to worry about daycare for another 2 years from now.
And to be honest, I wouldn't have kids in your situation either, I spent 28 years finding the right woman to settle down with, and I've been through A LOT in that search. Then waited until I was 33 to have kids.
I'd think someone as "worldly" as you would understand your priorities are going to change and what you want out of life is going to change as you get older.
