A bit deeper into it now, and this game is fantastic. Just running around murdering people is fun enough, but add onto that the ability to do the same thing but in a tank...oh man, I wasn't interested in the tanks when I read the initial reviews, but goddamn is it fun to drive through the streets of New York in a tank.
The cars honk and try desperately to reverse out of your way, but they can't because it's New York and the streets are congested, so you just run over top of the poor bastards and giggle.
Maybe others have played games like Spiderman, so the novelty of demolishing a fairly accurate (I don't think Game Crazy really has a giant billboard in Times Square) representation of NY has worn off for them, but it's new to me, and it's fucking great.
I thought that I might have a hard time getting into this game because of how much I liked InFamous, but they really are two completely different games, and I think that playing InFamous first was a good idea. I say that because you feel much more powerful in this game. Don't get me wrong, I felt like death incarnate in InFamous, but this is just a whole other level of ass kicking.
Maybe I'm not far enough along, but another nice thing coming from InFamous, is that this game doesn't seem to have moral choices, not that it didn't work for InFamous, but here it's great that the entire world is against you and you can pretty much slaughter military, civilians, and infested without a care in the world.
I could type up an entire treatise on why this game is great just a few hours deep into it, but just trust me, play it for yourself. It's not perfect but it's fucking fun.
