I can't believe Jews themselves don't realize this. Israel is the promised land, the only physical thing besides the race of people themselves which has been promised by God. God promised 2 main things - to multiply Abrahams descendants which he did and to give him the land of Israel back in Exodus

"israel created hamas" seems to be making the rounds at liberal blogs these days, i don't know anything about that

if israel did give them some funding in the past i imagine their platform was considerably different from what it is now
 
I can't think of anything else more unimportant to the U.S. as when Israel was created.

at around 1946, all the US government could think about was WTF IS THIS SOVIET UNION - they were obviously the next enemy!

hamas descended from the Palestinian Arabs who are there and who have been trying to destroy Israel almost since they were created. Do people even bother looking at the history book or what.

do you seriously believe that their goal in the past was the destruction of israel, and israel funded them? you have read even less than i did - the organizations they funded were nonviolent, and ended up spawning hamas.

i mean, i said "i don't know anything about that" because the few reputable stories out there hardly make me an expert, but it sounds like you just made shit up to fill in some sort of storyline you have in your head.
 
uh no, Israel has zero problem playing enemy against enemy. And dont forget that the PLO refused to recognize Israel until we forced them into negotiations.

israel funded muslim political organizations at an attempt to counteract the PLO - these organizations were nonviolent and focused on religious social/community work. eventually (much later) they spawned violent militias. 1 2

you and smurphy are claiming that israel funded religious militants to counteract the secular PLO. do you have any proof of this?

The land there is not a resource in any way. It's a desolate shithole that's barely habitable. The only reason anyone wants it is religious bullshit.
 
it's the cradle of civilization, it contains some of the most fertile land there is (fertile crescent) and houses some of the longest continuously-inhabited communities in history. also, there were a bunch of people that used to live there and had their land taken away one way or another. you're just talking about the judean desert.
