Heh, even my Saturn has traction control :)

I only use ABS though, mostly because the pedals on the MS Wheel are really crappy.

no but the purist get bent even when you use ALB .... last time i checked pretty much every car i ever owned has anti lock brakes.

but really why would you turn your traction control off in your real life car.. unless you wanted to do burnouts or drift.

i know my magnum has it and for the most part i leave it on.
 
I played around with the decals and paint for about an hour and a half last night, tuning out a Supra. Loving this car right now, it spazzes out like it should and i'm kicking ass in it.
 
The one thing I noticed about the AI is that if you pressure them hard from behind, that's when they slip up and go off the track sometimes. Kind of neat actually that they overdrive a turn and slip up rather than run perfect lines every time.

I had a fast car and was in 3rd but was waiting for an open spot to pass so I was right on the bumper of the AI and that's when they slip up.
 
Eh, it's just called ABS, but it's just really the game helping you out by braking correctly. ABS in name only...

I turn TC/stability off because it changes the cards attitude (especially under throttle/turning) and really mellows it out too much. I was suffering playing the first race in automatic with the assists :( There are some times when hanging the ass end out and throwing it into a corner will get you somewhere faster, like through chicanes. The traction control won't let the car maintain it's attitude and speed through there by making you take a straighter and more controlled line than you'd like to.

I leave it in manual because if you're coming in too hot to a corner the computer won't downshift the right way, so I'd rather do that myself...just more control over the car.

Also, the AI is fucking great. Wish you could set the NASCAR up for ovals better by adjusting the caster/camber for individual wheel, but oh well...it's not a NASCAR game. This one is lightyears ahead of the last one :)
 
I'm glad they put so much effort into the AI. Makes the offline game a lot more worthwhile. Even with a fast car you've got to be really smart about getting through the field.
 
There's no need for ABS. Once you upgrade your brakes you can manually adjust braking distribution and strength. Just turn the strength down to like 60-75% and you'll never lock the tires up unless you jam all the way down on the brakes.
 
yea but first you have to have your disc and not leave it at your friends house or else its all pretty pointless DrJones

i was only doin that for a couple mins.

i did drifting with triple and someone else for a while last night that was pretty fun.

triple and i had a great moment where we ping ponged off each other right towards the end of a section but we keept our drifts... it was fun.
 
got it last night and ran through the end of the first season
then bought the 2.3l mazda 3 hatchback and then upgraded the fuck piss out of it to a top end class c car and am tearing up season 2.

It is in dire need of some tribalwar decals.
