[USA] The Kyle Rittenhouse Trial Has Begun

Imagine being so bewildered by the idea that the state might fail to protect you to the degree that citizens would have to take security into their own hands, despite this idea playing out right in front of your eyes for almost an entire year.

Mush brain statists.

This is precisely what happened. And people call them "vigilantes" like that's a pejorative term. American heroes in my estimation.

So, let's say that the guy who got shot in the arm would have capped Kyle.
They would have let him off scot free?

I wonder if this will end up with him being found guilty of shooting the first guy and different charges for the others. Maybe being found innocent of shooting the guy who had the gun out? Cluster.

I didn't know the exact charges... Grabbed these from an article....

FIRST-DEGREE RECKLESS HOMICIDE, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON
This felony charge is connected to the death of Joseph Rosenbaum

The charge is a felony punishable by up to 60 years in prison. The dangerous weapon modifier carries another five years.

FIRST-DEGREE RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING SAFETY, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON
This felony charge is also connected to the Rosenbaum shooting. The charge is punishable by 12 1/2 years in prison. The weapons modifier carries another five years.

FIRST-DEGREE INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON
This charge is connected to Anthony Huber's death.
The count carries a mandatory life sentence. The weapons modifier would add up to five years.

ATTEMPTED FIRST-DEGREE INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON
This is the charge for Rittenhouse shooting Gaige Grosskreutz in the arm
The charge carries a maximum sentence of 60 years. The weapons modifier would add up to five more years.

FIRST-DEGREE RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING SAFETY, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON
Video shows an unknown man leaping at Rittenhouse and trying to kick him seconds before Huber moves his skateboard toward him. Rittenhouse appears to fire two rounds at the man but apparently misses as the man runs away.

This charge is a felony punishable by 12 1/2 years in prison. The weapons modifier again would add up to five more years.

POSSESSION OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON BY A PERSON UNDER 18
Rittenhouse was armed with an AR-style semiautomatic rifle. He was 17 years old on the night of the shootings. Wisconsin law prohibits minors from possessing firearms except for hunting.

The charge is a misdemeanor punishable by up to nine months behind bars.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH AN EMERGENCY ORDER FROM STATE OR LOCAL GOVERNMENT
Kenosha officials imposed an 8 p.m. curfew the night of the shootings. Rittenhouse was still on the streets as midnight approached. The offense is punishable by up to $200 in forfeitures.

You can see the problem facing Kyle's defense.

The Justice System mandates that the defendant be presumed innocent and it is on the prosecution (the state) to prove he is guilty. Yet, the opposition has saturated the environment with so many falsehoods that many people, including 2/3rds of the jury pool already presume him guilty based on lies and misinformation.

You can see the twisted effort to mitigate the reality of a violent mob into being "peaceful protesters"... that the 3 people Kyle shot were convicted Pedophiles, having raped young boys, 1 has a long criminal history of violence. 1 was just release from the mental ward THAT DAY and was already on the street burning Kenosha. 1 of them was armed with a gun drawn and admitted ON CAMERA that he wished he empty the gun into Kyle's head.

But all of these guys are innocent "victims" of Kyle Rittenhouse who they've manged to smear as actually being the degenerate one and not the people he shot.

All of this is plainly visible on video and yet... people are so partisan they won't see it for what it is.

Bizzaro-World.

What are you talking about .. are you insinuating the jurors are just going to ignore the video and go with they read prior to the trial?

Biases are hard to break. And the video isn't shown in a vacuum, it'll be narrated and dissected by the prosecution as well

... They will get both narratives. Only 1 makes sense. Not sure why you guys are so focused on the noise..

Because an abundance of statist pussies are available for jury selection, bro. I'm sure you've noticed a serious divide in narratives around this case.

Yes.

Jurors are regular people. They're not special. They're not immune to bias and prejudice. Picking jurors that will side with your arguments to get the outcome yo uwant is part of the game as a lawyer. That is why a lot of money and time is invested into jury selection strategies.

During the Chauvin trial we have jurors that admitted, on record, afterward that they voted to convict based on the fear of the mob coming to their homes and getting revenge. We have a juror who openly lied about being BLM.

The Prosecution in the Rittenhouse trial began with reminding the jurors that there was an angry mob of protesters outside the doors of that very courtroom as a not-so-subtle threat of the consequences should they not pass down the correct verdict.

Little different here, nobody cares about these 3 dudes. Most people couldn't even name one of them. It only takes one holdout willing to be more stubborn than the rest who want to go home.

They're still going to convict him though.

The idea of a Jury is weird. I understand the concept of being judged by peers, and how that may make these less political, or it's thought to be anyway. It's not practical.

With changing demographics I don't want juries in the future. Also, the people most willing to be on jury duty have a lot of free time. Busy people try their best to get out of it, and if they are on a jury and there is a gridlock may very well relent because of attrition. If women are on a jury it's so emotional, and the best kind of mind to navigate law would be nigh autistic with left brain thinking.

It's not really a good system.

zimmerman was rightly found not guilty

i think rittenhouse will walk, or at worst get some mickey mouse charge out of it
