If it was Tesla Autopilot... there is still a human driver at the wheel. If the autopilot didn't see it... I doubt the human at wheel saw it (assuming the operator was actually attentive like they're supposed to be).
I didn't even know what was happening until a wreck materialized out of the black at the last minute, and I watched it several times, knowing what was going to happen.
Even the Tractor-Trailer Unit applied the brakes as it passed the wreckage, and that Driver should have had a great view of the road.
