[SO] The government is shut down...

And what were your options before? Your cobra is running out so without the exchange you'd have to pay out of pocket anyways...

Have you figured out what your tax credit is?

Cobra has another 12 months before I'm forced off my current plan.

I won't get a tax credit because apparently I'm rich, and 30k in medical expenses is no problem for high-rollers like myself.

This from the meber who brags about intentionally not paying his bills

I didn't say they were my bills. They were inherited.

I also don't pay for services that I don't use (but can't cancel), don't want (or need), that are compulsory, or that are fraudulent.

hope that clarifies issues for you. I've got fun stories for each if you need further elaboration.

Captain Tele has a severe issue with understanding what the debt ceiling is, and what it isn't.

It's a limit......

Like a credit card limit. Not exactly complicated.

"Why can't I spend as much as I want.......whenever I want"

yea data got pretty boned :/
how much would it cost to get something comparable to your old plan

Not my plan. I stole it from another forum.

I don't get to hear about the changes to my coverage until the end of the month. Being a healthy white male under 35, I'm preparing my anus. :(

preparing your anus in anticipation you mean.........

who doesn't want a 3000% decrease in their premium costs.

Obamacare is magic made of rainbows.

debt ceilings are just imaginary lines drafted by haters against mo' money.

that's what I'm talking about.

people are too quick to sign very shitty deals. they think they have to. not paying bills is becoming a new hobby of mine (long story..) and I'm amazed with what I can get away with.

the worst possible deal you can get for not paying is what would happen if you were being honest and tried to pay it all off on time (what I used to do).........the more you procrastinate, obfuscate, the more of a discount and forgiveness plan they will give you. they will take pennies on the dollar if they think they can get at least something out of you. In most situations they just give up. or figure out that you can't bleed a stone that they have no leverage over.

A model republican I see, can't even keep his own finances in order and makes extravagant excuses with multiple edits to explain then, then tries to tell everyone else how to be fiscally responsible

Who pays their bills in this day and age? Get with the times! When you don't pay them, someone else will pay them for you. It's socialism and it's awesome!

Universal healthcare works in every other 1st world country, why not the USA as well?

I really, honestly, don't get why people are against it.

That's not really how the tax credit works, but ok.

Sounds like you've really put a lot of effort into accurately understanding ACA and how it impacts you. :bigthumb:

didn't say not paying "my bills" is a hobby of mine.

you ever have a relative die and get stuck with trying to close out all of their expenses......because you are the administrator of their estate?

Sadly, I paid most of them outright before I realized that they would just keep on coming for more. That there was no satisfying the beast. That's when I decided to see what they could do about it. To see what kind of harm they could do to a dead persons credit.......or property.

lesson learned and personal anecdotes aren't the construct of reason......which explains why people who are so outright illogical care so much about what I am doing, on a personal level, instead of the universal truths I speak.

Guess they need something to dwell on while they keep themselves intentionally anchored to their own stupidity.

So it's a tax corporations have to pay, but it's specifically geared towards healthcare?

How about just increasing corporate taxes and not say where the money is going, but channel it into healthcare anyway, does that take away the "corporate welfare" stigma for you?

people are against universal healthcare because the insurance industry is terrified of it and puts out awful information about it to scare people.

"you will have to wait 6 years to get treatment!"

The ACA is going to suck for some people for a couple years but it is a step towards a single payer system aka the death of mmmmmurrrrkkuh (about time)
