Borderlands

Just out of curiosity, who do you think your going to play as and what build do you think you will use??? What do you normally play on a rpg?

I usually play a assassin/rogue type mostly for the pvp aspects, but i think i might go with Soldier because they seem very self efficient with thier turret heals and ammo abilities.

Only recent issue I've ever had with gamespy is UT3 frequently deciding it doesn't want to accept my login, if that's not an issue here then it really makes no difference what it uses IMHO. Every medium has its quirks.

wtf? watching ultimate fighter on spike and a borderlands commercial comes on that says available now

someone fucked up

The console versions are released a week or so early. But even then, it's too early.. My guess is the date slipped and they didn't change commercials.

the devs who are on TW posting in here?

My concern is that its just one ugly brown on brown world, is there some color?

I cant take brown games anymore

after watching these vids the AI seems kinda lacking...does it spawn more monsters with more people or do they just become harder?

I hope we have to fight swarms of monsters. I know hellgate london had its faults but the game was fun when you were swarmed with a ton of monsters :)

The desert areas are just the starting zones. There are apparently some places with foliage and others with snowy areas.

Haha, good question! I’ve been debating this for a while, and I’m still not sure.

On one hand, I’m tempted to play as Roland. I’d recommend Roland to the typical shooter player, because as identified, he tends to be pretty self sufficient. For any player that has only played Halo or CoD4, this is likely the easiest starting point. The turret provides offensive and defensive capabilities, and Roland’s skills probably serve as the easiest introduction to the RPG elements.

However, my interest for Roland lies in the support and medic and trees. I can finally play this game with all of my friends, so I want to be a real contributor and leader. With the ability to heal and supply co-op mates, Roland can be a welcome addition to any party. Also, later in the game, Roland has the ability to acquire some really rare class mods to buff the entire party. If you find one of these items, everyone wins!

On the other hand, I want to be selfish and create a totally badass character! If I go down this path, I’m going to pick Lilith. Her skill tree maybe the most complicated, but for those that spend time to figure it out, the results can be amazing. For many, I think Lilith will be underappreciated. With her mystical abilities and tech buffs, she is an ideal candidate for a second playthrough. Here, the game gets tougher, but the loot gets better. More importantly, special tech weapons tend to become more common, perfectly accenting her skill set. I fully expect to see some wicked Lilith configurations late into the game.

In the end, I’m sure I’ll do both. After all, I’ve already played with Mordecai and Brick! :)

Without spoiling anything, yes! You’ll see more soon enough! ;)

Yes. The game dynamically scales with the number of players. This includes quantity, quality, and difficulty.

Regarding swarms, I agree; that is fun! You'll certainly have your chance to fight plenty of swarms in Borderlands. :)
