Why is it always the moderator's fault when people are acting like idiots?

Aren't people responsible for their own actions?
 
EveO mods are retarded imho. Always over kill on the lock\edit\wtfever button. Of all the sub forums that one should be wide open ffs.

On the contrary, they aren't hard enough in the right areas. They lock threads when people complain about cheating and GM actions, and let the idiot masses post flames, lies, propaganda, and disrespectful shit(I'm looking at you, BoB). The later needs to be controlled, not the former.
 
Guess I'm just used to how we're not really moderated here on Twar then. You're also right, they're extremely paranoid of people bad mouthing them but most other stuff is fair game. Their language filters are so far out of whack that everyday words are actually filtered out. I don't understand these guys sometimes.

No, I'm not looking at you, I'm looking at the BoB directors. They publicly treat the rest of the players like shit, far beyond what any other large organization does. CCP should have been clamping down on this attitude long ago, there's no place in EVE for people who can't treat their in-game competitors with dignity and respect. We are real people, and all too often that's forgotten.
 
There are definitely some double-standards.

Chatlogs, open trolling and flaming, posting of RL info, and numerous other violations seem to pass under the radar for some, and I'm not talking about just BoB, while less well-known posters get moderated at the slightest hint of trolling.

That's not always true. I've seen a few well known posters get permabanned for ridiculously stupid reasons (HippoKing, Sarmaul, etc.)

but they lock the best fucking thread in the "cake making dread pilot"

Fuck corp and alliance summit. I only frequent GD and Ships and Mods now. Those political forums all turn to dogshit after a while. I only frequent to get a quick gist of the news.
