Police revived four people who overdosed Tuesday at the same house, 4 different times

According to a news release from the Newton Police Department, officers first responded to the Halsted Street residence at 2:07 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unconscious male. They found and administered Narcan to the 32-year-old man who was transported to Newton Medical Center for further treatment.

At the same time, officers were alerted to a second subject elsewhere in the same house who was reported to be suffering from a seizure. After observing signs of a heroin overdose, officers used Narcan to revive the 31-year-old man who also was transported to Newton Medical Center.

Officers were called back to the same address at 6:49 p.m. where they found an unresponsive 28-year-old male in a bathtub. Narcan was once again administered to revive the subject who also was taken to Newton Medical Center.

Then, at 8:34 p.m., officers were called once more to the same residence and administered Narcan to revive a 47-year-old female.

The overdoses and previous reports of drug activity at the residence helped NPD detectives and the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force develop information to conduct a cooperative investigation into the distribution of heroin.

The investigation, including a search of the premises, resulted in the Thursday arrest of Julie E. Taylor, 42, and Robert J. Agresta, 53, both of Newton.
