If I understood it correctly, an assault mech (The biggest of the big) went after a light scout mech and fell through a building destroying itself. So yeah, I think it was the piloting check.

yeah he moved in dangerous terrain basically and failed piloting which lead to all sorts of ridiculousness. crits on ammo, falling through floors, more crits on ammo, etc.

all he did was move and KABOOOOOOM. great game to play while having a few beers
