[Xbox 360 Question] WMC vs 360 Libraries

so i have connected my xbox to my computer via the windows media center, but its slow and i dont really like the media center, but i notice that when i goto the actual xbox 360 music tab, that it also recognizes my computer however when i try to play music through that it says that i need to activate my xbox on my computer. i googled how to activate it and all that came up were ways to connect via WMC, so does anyone know how else to activate an xbox on a computer

those other things are for streaming video. to jsut stream music .....enable sharing in wmp and you should be good.

I cant update to WMP11 because it says I have an old version of xp. I have all the updates for XP, so I cant figure this one out. Im stuck using VUZE to stream movies, but WMP was so much better because I could steam my music playlists as well. Anyone have a clue on a fix that doesnt involve a format and reinstall of windows?
