'Worst Voter Turnout in 72 Years' [36.6%] Fuck your Apathy Losers

Seems like only yesterday that you mused how the country was slowly moving in the right direction. What a difference one silly midterm makes.

I do think it's moving in the right direction, just not fast enough. I don't think I'll see more than 2 viable parties in my lifetime.

Based on what metric? I read today that 25% of millennials think their student debt will ultimately be forgiven. Total student loan debt is over $1.2 trillion and has risen 84% in the past 6 years.

The problem developing is that earnings and debt aren’t moving in the same direction. From 2005 to 2012, average student loan debt has jumped 35%, adjusting for inflation, while the median salary has actually dropped by 2.2%.

Find one single positive thing in any of this: Congratulations to Class of 2014, Most Indebted Ever - The Numbers - WSJ

You and I will probably squeek by. The next gens are fucked.

I voted for some people who didn't stand a chance and lost.

24 Reasons Why Millennials Are Screaming Mad About America's "Unfair" Economy | Zero Hedge

was just reading this, thought you might enjoy.

if even a fraction of this is true....holy fuk they are screwed.

the short term can kicking, that ruined the prospects for future generations, not to mention saddled them with astronomical debt, is going to be real interesting to watch in the future.

especially when the future of medicaid, social security, and pensions depend on them paying in (like all pyramid schemes).

Basically it highlights the folly of everyone getting a degree and thinking it is worth something.

I bet if you checked with the kids who left school at 16 or 17 and became plumbers, electricians and sheetrock specialists they would be better off.

Also with the trend towards smaller families from older parents nowadays many of these 'kids' won't get saddled with the big mortgages that sprang up 10 years ago. Parents will cark it when the kids are in their early 30's - they will inherit the house and be set.

fuck em anyway - damn kids whining, if u don't like it fuck off to China or India where there is some real incentive to get off your ass and get it done.

exactly...your synopsis completely aligns with my outlook on this. :)

sucks i pissed away so much time/effort before realizing this though.

most of those kids with older parents probably have ones that signed up for a reverse mortgage....our new way of watching seniors fight hidden inflation costs not being honestly reflected by their Social Security adjustments.

that and boomers love to piss money away (as reflected by our deficit)

For some reason having you agree with me worries me more than all the times you have trolled.

One of us has changed.

Or this is a new and more powerful troll tactic :)

Seriously. I hate half these assholes that say 'it doesn't matter' or "they're both teh same, what does it matter" the other half are just fucking lazy cunts more selfish than alive.

You think national politics are fucked? Then vote. Change it by ensuring that extreme candidates don't get on the ballot by voting in primaries.

Don't care about national politics? Think one vote is nothing in a senatorial campaign? Are you aware about local state offices? County? City? Ballot initiatives? These things often impact a person more than national, get out there and let your voice be heard.

fuck.

With the way things are going, how the fuck did we not get close to 50%? I'm speechless.

This is maybe the biggest thread fail ever. OP is the last person on TW to realize that a vote between Coke and Pepsi is bullshit for those who want beer, coffee, a cookie, some habaneros, a wheel of cheese, a carbureteor, or just a tall glass of water.

Enjoy your illusion of democracy, OP. We all envy your naivete.

but it is super important

the fight over whether all of our nations money should be pissed away on welfare, or warfare, is an important one.

whether we should strip away our rights for morality, or social justice.....

big decisions to make here. unless, you know, you don't need to be led and are sick of seeing what they are doing.

If you are in a shop that only sells Coke or Pepsi you either make your choice or you stop complaining about that shitty shop and open your own.

time for a revolution - take up your arms

most young kids are also spoiled and want instant gratification

they live beyond their means, they fuck off in school and get worthless degrees, etc, etc

Because fraud.
It wouldn't be that hard to create a secure online voting system. You might have to issue national ID card that contain RFID chips so they can basically act as OTP tokens. people would hate the shit out of the idea of national ID cards because poor people don't have IDs or computer, or because national ID cards are a step on the road to tyranny (depending on which end of crazy they are), but it would be *more* secure than any current voting system.

there's probably two main reasons why we won't have online voting. one is very practical and the other is conspiratorial.

1) the way voting in the US is set up is retarded. there is no national voting system or solid voting standard. every district gets to decide their own voting system. this means a couple things: (1) organizing a national standard online voting system is impossible, and (2) there's no single huge IT contract that a good vendor/services company can go after. small counties are very big contracts.

2) the government has no interest in making voting easy for anyone. that's why we vote on tuesdays. tuesday, with the exception of last tuesday, is never a holiday. that's the national parties challenge early voting periods that span over weekends. that's why election day isn't a national holiday. that's why it's not on saturday and sunday, you know, when working people have the time to go get shit done. know who has time to vote on tuesdays? rich people and old people.

Long range RFID hacking tool to be released at Black Hat | Threatpost | The first stop for security news

The RFID systems have no security, such as encryption, behind them, making it trivial to intercept badge information. An attacker can in theory capture card data, clone it onto a new card, and be able to access a physical facility.

RFID is perhaps one of the least secure, easiest to hack, protocols that I have ever seen in my life.

High-tech thieves use laptops to steal cars

just ask david beckham about this

Two of British soccer star David Beckham's BMW X5s were stolen by thieves who hacked into the codes for the vehicles' RFID chips.

and the DMV is about as good at keeping peoples personal info as Home Depot.
