Micro payment MMOG with it being free to play unless you want to make money faster... Pretty darn fun and the first 3 tiers might be the most fun... a lot of shooting idiots.

decent physics and an intricate damage model make the thing a blast when you just feel like driving a tank.
You can also be a dick and play as Artillery which can lay a round across the map as long as something is spotted. Fun to shoot shit a mile a way.
Pick either Soviet, US, or Wehrmacht tanks.
The community features are a little weak yet but i think a small TW group is possible.
World of Tanks
It hasnt been out all that long so it is pretty easy to get in game with plenty of people who suck for practice... tier 4-6 is where it gets tough with opponents.
just upgraded from a panzer 4 to a VK3601H which is a sort of bastard child of a Panzer 4 and Tiger tank.
Once you get around tier 5 the matches go all over the place with the matchups... ive seen panzer twos and crappy M3 Lee tanks all over the place some games.... and other games im trying to shoot a Tiger II or a Lowe or god forbid a Maus.
The Soviet line seems to be best with Medium tanks while the Germans win Heavy and the US is best rounded...
If you like playing Artillery go German or Soviet.
