Why ‘Atlas Shrugged’ Matters

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

I wish I had the amount of possessions that Lennon had. lol

I haven't read it but I've been meaning to. I've just been on more of a nonfiction bend lately. I started reading Anthropology and then moved on to cosmology books.

The overall plot of the book seems petty retarded though. If the people of industry suddenly withdrew themselves they'd just be replaced. If today two thousand CEOs just dropped off the face of the earth you can bet that tomorrow there would be two thousand new CEOs.

Yeah man, you've totally debunked the whole thing.

You should contact me if you are a skinny woman. If your words are a meaningful progression of concepts rather than a series of vocalizations induced by your spinal cord for the purpose of complementing my tone of voice. If you’ve seen the meatbot, the walking automaton, the pod-people, the dense, glazy-eyed substrate through which living organisms such as myself must escape to reach air and sunlight. If you’ve realized that if speech is to be regarded as a cognitive function, technically they aren’t speaking, and you don’t have to listen.
ayn rand fans need love too

Ayn Rand called this shit out long ago (obviously) and we are in fact headed down that path.

The only question is how many people welcome that path, and how many don't.

There will be consequences either way.

anyone who gathers enough intelligence eventually realizes that no one actually knows shit and the smarter you get the more cynical you will become so save yourself the trouble and live in blissful ignorance.

I had some interest in reading it but most on TW said though the message was good, that she was a windbag and had pages and pages of single monologues, stuff like that.

In light of that, it doesn't surprise me the cliffs are popular.

The administration 'seized power'?

By being voted in?

Stop crying Conservatives. Your backward philosophy didn't work and fucked us up pretty badly. Let the other side try a while, they really can't do worse than you did.
