why are things more exciting when you don't expect them?

example: I own not another teen movie and hardly ever watch it because i've seen it like 10 times and can quote the entire movie... but then it came on comedy central the other day and i was really fucking excited and watched the whole thing from start to finish
 
also, anyone notice how people unexpectedly having sex in movies is much more interesting than when it happens in porn movies
