I use epox 8rda+'s nforce2 onboar audio with senn hd580's and it sounds fine.
Alternatively, I run a stero to rca cable to a bookshelf aiwa stereo and blast the decibels.
If my sound would benefit from putting my audigy in, it would be negligible to me, plus im lazy to install it.

Creative is also one of the most popular add-in boards. They have swallowed several smaller companies and ignored most advances they have made. They take every chance they get to create exclusive advantages (EAX)
For each of those games there are products that have been competitivly minimalized due to exclusive licensing deals. Whether that's because EA puts out a superior product or not is a matter of opinion.
