We should have a robot by now.

What do you think could contribute to a successful robot?

Here is my list:

Body

Muscles if needed

Eye (Camera #1)
Supermarket Scanner Recognizes Objects, Makes Barcodes Obsolete #DigInfo - YouTube

Second Eye (Camera #2) and Hands
High-Speed Robot Hand - YouTube

Skin (There are many companies that have created skins that are sensitive to vibrations and would allow a robot to determine what it is touching)

Materials
Lighter and stronger is better (Micro Lattice is just one example)

Power Source
An efficient power source is likely the most difficult issue in creating a robot. If oil and battery industry would ever allow for advancements then this may become less of an issue, however, modern advancements in materials and nanotechnology should allow for lightweight affordable materials to one day become a reality. Which material is best suited for mass production and has best value is what needs to determined.

Organizations are all developing separate technologies that need to be combined with each other. They need to work together and be backed by billionaire investment. If billionaires can do it for space travel and for space mining then they should also begin on robotics.

What if we are the robots but we're programmed not to recognize ourselves for what we really are?
