[tech] Help! computer won't boot

I accidentally* imported an old backup registry file (old as in previous computer old). This completely screwed up my computer to the point that I couldn't even get system restore loaded.

Trying to reboot to "Last known good configuration" or safe mode doesn't get me anywhere: the computer keeps rebooting.

I'm at the recovery console now. How do I get it to the point that I can at least boot into safe mode? Thanks!
