T1/Radeon 9600 issues

I just bought a Radeon 9600 AIW Pro and installed the cat 3.9s. When I try to run the tribes.exe it will begin to run then immediately terminate. I have disabled fastwrite, put tribes in software at 640, set the BIOS settings to default, and even formatted (I needed to anyway). Any other games will run fine.

My system:
Athlon XP 1800
MSI K7T266 Pro2
Windows XP Pro

when you installed it, ddi you clean out old drivers first?

you need a driver cleaner program (google for drivercleaner) and then remove ALL traces of ati and nvidia drivers.

then get the ati catalyst uninstaller from their site.

then reinstall the 3.9s

Did the above steps. It's still doing the same thing. :/

Install cat 3.8's---3.9's have a problem with all-in-wonder cards--it results in opengl games crashing.

I didn't think that would be an issue since I had it in software mode, but that fixed it.
