and apparently it dies rather quickly, so can people hurry up and suggest air-oh-plain games please... is IL-2 any good? what about lock-on?

Descent 3 too, if you want to blow your mind. If there's any multiplayer around that'll be a trip and a half, it's like trying to learn how to ski in Tribes all over again except more complicated.

I just re-installed X-Wing alliance and added the newer updated models from here. http://www.xwaupgrade.com/

Game looks better than ever and is just as fun.

I was hearing MSs WW2 Combat sims were decent as well but I never played them. I would also say Freelancer but that's mouse driven.

OOO, or that Alliegience game, you know the one MS made as a MMO Space flight sim game but they dumped it and fans brought it back? That may be a good one too, and you can't beat the price (free). Here, URL'D!

Mech2 and Mech3 are both great games.
