At BlizzCon 2008, it was announced by Blizzard's VP of Game Design, Rob Pardo, that StarCraft II would ship in three stand-alone installments rather than as one distinct game, provisionally entitled Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void respectively for the Terran, Zerg and Protoss factions.

Um. There's been atleast 2 threads on this subject. You'd have to be pretty fucking retarded to think that there wouldn't be on TW.

What's stopping me from buying one and two of my friends buying the others?

We could all play multiplayer together (legitimately), and swap the single player campaigns between the three of us.
