I have some decent respect for streamers who take it seriously and have a good setup and actually work on producing good content, building a community, being entertaining. I think there are one or two female streamers that actually fall into this category, nothing wrong with that.
However 99% of streamers are just people with a webcam playing a video game which anybody could do, you just need a decent PC/graphics card to handle the streaming. Usually they only get a handful of viewers just passing by.
Then there's the 1% of streamers who are actually pro gamers streaming while they practice or to supplement their tournament income. They don't do any of the above to make it entertaining, but they have skill in the game they play.
And then there's the other 1% who are female streamers who don't offer any of the above. Not like that's a new thing though, see all the mindless youtube videos that are basically just vapid streams of thought/daily diaries into a webcam yet they have thousands of views.
