oh god why must they make miniseries

they have zero budget and they're all shot in eastern europe and they're awful

I'm fed up w/ nerds deluding themselves into thinking the dune ones were any good
 
A few mini series are good muk. They are very few and far in between, but you never know when something brilliant might come out.
 
on scifi? I guess the BSG one was okay, but they had a ton of funding for it and a strong IP backed with a known/trusted team

I've sort of lost faith with scifi as a network you know :/

bsg was the last 'good' thing syfy did i think. and even then the last seasons were pretty bad.

i didn't even realize 3001 existed as a book...i read 2060, tho don't really remember what happened in it

iirc clarke once described 3001 as a prime example of how even established authors are not immune to large amounts of money

(or some shit)
 
I hope they devote one of the episodes to the cultural ramifications of Frank Poole's circumcised cock, just like in the book.
