[sleep] not very good at it

I was tired, so I got ready for bed. Then I attempt to fall asleep and I am in no way sleepy. This has been happening a lot lately. It has always taken me an hour or two to fall asleep, but now im not even sleepy and so im just laying here bored. But if I stay up late I will then require an afternoon, which is fine except then I will certainly not be sleepy come bed time.

Any thoughts. Maybe go for a run an hour or so before I plan to sleep?

Work is a necessary evil. But this is a valid point. When I exercised daily, I slept better.

Turn off all sources of light and zone out staring at the ceiling.

I have back out curtains and blocked all my electronics. Yet my room is still pretty bright. But the staring at the wall is a good point. I use to be able to just imagine nothingness and fall asleep that way, but I have too much on my mind. Something always creeps in.
