S-video cord to TV --> black and white only?

i recently upgraded to windows XP from 2k pro and this is where i think the problem came from

for some reason now my secondary monitor which is my tv is only showing black and white now
it used to work perfectly
the tv still shows color fine

must be a setting somewhere in the tv output.

actually i have had this problem before. It is either 1 of 2 things.

1) the s-video cable is bad and needs replacing

2) the connections on the TV/monitor or the source are not good.

I had a situation where the s video cable going from my PS to my receiver had a bad connection at the cable to reciever end. Only thorugh extensive bending did i eventually find a position for the cable where the picture would the be a color image. Try screwing with the connection while someone watches the monitor to make sure of any possible changes from color to black and white.

Change your TV output to M/NTS in the video card setting

not sure, thats what I did for mine but mine is composite...

switching from pal to ntsc is what a lot of the fixes on the net called for but mine has been set on it the whole time

then try switching it back to PAL when you're using S-Video ?
